The History of Cherry’s Industrial and Material-Handling.com

Founder Bud Cherry established Cherry’s Industrial Equipment in 1983 when he introduced the standalone pallet inverter to the national market. The inverter was created to safely recover dry stock like sugar and fertilizer and soon became a hit in the material handling industry. Since then, the company has grown to include other types of large machinery, such as tippers and dispensers, as well as custom industry solutions.

With the growing demand for diverse kinds of material-handling solutions, Cherry’s Industrial began to expand its services in the 1990s. The company started selling standard (non-custom) equipment and products online in 1999 on a plethora of satellite sites such as WireDecking.com, PlasticPallet.com, PalletTruck.com and 34 other domains, but these exact-match domain names made it hard for customers to order all their needed equipment in a single purchase.

As a result, Material-Handling.com was created as the Cherry’s Industrial master e-commerce site to consolidate these domains into a single, easy-to-use location.
